Sharon Schanzer
Founder & Creative Director
A twenty+ year journey at the intersection of creativity, technology & strategy.
I founded RLDGROUP in 2000 after years working across publishing, technology, consulting, business development, and digital strategy. I’m an entrepreneur, consultant, graphic designer, web developer, marketer, and photographer, and my work has always lived at the intersection of business, technology, creativity, and execution.
I’m also the founder of What’s Your Boulder?, The Implementation Studio, where I help founders, executives, and organizations move important projects from stuck to finished. The philosophy behind What’s Your Boulder? deeply informs how I work with clients at RLDGROUP: reducing friction, simplifying complexity, and turning ideas into real-world results.
Over the years, I’ve developed a unique combination of strategic thinking, creative direction, operational insight, and hands-on technical expertise. At RLDGROUP, I lead creative direction, business development, client strategy, and operations.
Before founding RLDGROUP, I served as VP of Sales & Marketing at SaaS adtech platform VirtualGiveaway, VP of Client Services at Collabridge Technologies, and Principal and City Leader of the San Francisco office of internet consultancy Luminant Worldwide, which I co-founded and scaled from 2 to 20 employees.
Prior to Luminant, I spent 11 years as Founder and CEO of Madison Technologies, a New York-based digital publishing consultancy whose clients included The Nation, The Whitney Museum, Reader’s Digest, and Sotheby’s. Earlier in my career, I was Manager of IT Services at Condé Nast — where I directed a $4M company-wide rollout of 850 PCs across editorial, advertising, and circulation — and a technical writer at KPMG in New York and London.
Alongside my work at RLDGROUP, I serve as an Advisor/Scout at Astia, a $65M+ AUM fund, where I source, screen, and support high-performing women-led companies seeking funding. I’m also a VC in Residence/Scout at LvlUp, sourcing and supporting companies raising capital.
I attended Carnegie Mellon University, and I am an award-winning photographer and avid traveler.
